Description

My client a leading national house developer is recruiting for a very exciting Joint Venture Accountant position in our beautiful city of Exeter. You will be responsible for financial and commercial support to some very exciting Joint Ventures in the South West region. You will manage and assist with statutory reporting, the production of the management plans and monthly management accounts. You will work with a variety of key stakeholders as well as the Regional Director.

Your Daily/ Weekly Tasks will include:

• Lead the joint venture reporting with responsibility for weekly and monthly reporting to both internal stakeholders and the wider joint venture management team and key stakeholders within the joint venture partner
• Manage the mechanism for ensuring adequate cash funding is in place for joint ventures
• Manage the preparation of the monthly management and joint ventures board packs, implementing appropriate improvements.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of key KPI’s to monitor performance of the joint ventures against forecast expectations.
• Ensure that the joint ventures legal / operational framework is adhered to;

Joint Venture Accounting

• Hands on management of joint venture accounting for both the half year and full year audit and statutory reporting process
• Work with the Group joint venture accountant to develop the Group’s joint venture accounting policies and ensure that these are implemented within the region
• Provide support to the business to assist in the modelling and structure of new joint ventures
• Coordinate external advisors in relation to tax claims
Human Resource (Where Applicable)
• Manage the recruitment and induction of new employees in line with Company best practice guide.
• Conduct half yearly and annual appraisals with staff and liaise with Group HR to address development needs.
• Meet with your employees to discuss their progress on a regular, but not less that quarterly basis.
• Manage disciplinary and grievance situations in line with Company policy with assistance from HR.
• Manage and report all absences in accordance with Company policy.
• Monitor the performance and effectiveness of direct reports.
• Train develop and coach members of your team.
• Ensure that employees are not discriminated against or harassed or bullied at any time.

Education, training or qualification:

• CIMA / ACA / ACCA
• Ideally graduate with at least a 2:1 and/or strong A-level results
• 3 years+ PQE (Practice or Industry)
• Experience managing Joint Ventures from both a management and statutory reporting perspective; and also, from an internal / external stakeholder perspective
• COINS
• Experience with large infrastructure / consortium projects
