Skilled Engineering Machinist (CNC & Manual)

Description:

Due to expansion an exciting opportunity has arisen at my client within their engineering workshops.
They are recruiting for a Skilled Engineering Machinist.
They specialise in large scale fabrications and specialist machining. With 28,000 square feet of workshop space and a 50-ton lifting capability the workshops contain a comprehensive range of large machines including milling, boring and turning.
The ideal candidate will be a time served CNC & Manual machinist with extensive previous experience working in a busy engineering workshop environment.

Knowledge, skills and experience required are: -

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  
• Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring and conventional milling and lathe work, using various engine lathes (e.g. horizontal and vertical mills and boring mills).
  
• Proficient in the use of engineering measuring equipment.
  
• CNC Machine setting experience (use of Heidenhain, Fanuc and XYZ control systems advantageous).
  
• Experience of working to controlled tolerances.
  
• Understanding of materials and applications as required.
  
• Relevant engineering qualifications.
  
• Experience of working within ISO standards and correct completion of associated documentation.
  
• H & S conscious.
  
• Excellent literacy and numeracy skills.
  
• Must be available for shift work
