General Traffic Operative

Our client a highway services and construction business and a regional employer South West Highways is a regional employer that maintains the friendly feel of a local business, are recruiting for a number of key roles within the business. This vacancy s for traffic management operatives to be based in Plymouth.

Your main focus will be working within a team and providing a very high standard of work to include

• To work as part of a team to undertake Traffic Management duties all aspects of highway maintenance, construction and contract work.
• The successful candidate will be required to;
• Undertake specific footway works including reconstruction & slurry sealing, carriageway patching, drainage, masonry, emergency and highways maintenance tasks.
• Undertake a leading hand role within the designated gang
• To be available for out of hours standby duties
• Use of relevant plant and small tools (training provided)
• Provide general support and assistance to skilled and specialist operatives
• Work in accordance with the Company health, Safety & Environmental Policy

Formal qualifications required;

• CSCS
• 12D Traffic Management Card
• T1, T2, T3, T4
• Full Driving Licence

You will have good knowledge of Plymouth City and a good understanding of Health & Safety. Knowledge of ACOP Red Book, Chapter 8 and Streetworks.

Duration: Permanent 

Salary: From £8.50 to £10.50 per Hour
