Street Works Civil Operators 

CULLOMPTON (DEVON) AREA

My client a local company who have been established for 30 years who are looking for street works civil operatives to work across the South West.

The successful candidate will be required to perform excavations, repairs and reinstatements, installation of ducting, chambers and street cabinets and the installation of draw rope on South West Water infrastructure located within the public highway and customers premises, using up to date client standard operating procedures and in full compliance to current legislation, health and safety requirements and company policies.

What the role entails: - 

• Be competent in the use of Stihl saws, Wacker plates, trench compactors, mini diggers and jack hammers and hold the correct certification to complete the works.
• Be able to complete appropriate paperwork for daily works on job sheets, risk assessments, plant sheets and vehicle check sheets.
• Have experience of risk assessment and hazard identification with a strong focus on health and safety requirements and responsibilities.
• Be responsible for the company assets and plant assigned to you for the purpose of performing your duties.Have good communication skills and treat internal and external customers with respect and provide support when required.
• Ensure compliance with all current client processes and procedures.
  
  

Skills & Qualifications required for this position include: - 

• Be in good physical health.
• Have experience in a similar operational or engineering environment within the water industry.
• Prove confident skills in the area of street works and have industry recognised qualifications.
• Hold a full, clean UK drivers licence, preferably with towing licence.
  
  

Qualifications: - 

• CSCS
• NRSWA
• CPCS with SSSTS or SMSTS an advantage.
